Pure Benzene Industrial Chain Capacity Utilization Rate Statistics (2026-08-21 to 2026-08-27)

Published on 2026-08-28
Product Current Period Previous Period Change Next Period Direction
Styrene 62.58% 61.42% +1.16 percentage points
Phenol 64.90% 67.00% -2.1 percentage points
Caprolactam 67.86% 68.93% -1.07 percentage points
Aniline 72.83% 73.73% -0.9 percentage points
Adipic Acid 64.90% 61.30% +3.6 percentage points

Petroleum benzene output was 408,700 tons, up 16,700 tons from the previous cycle, an increase of 4.26%; capacity utilization was 67.92%, up 2.78 percentage points from the previous cycle. During the cycle, Shenghong Refining & Chemical restarted its cracking unit, one reforming unit and one disproportionation unit, while some units that had restarted earlier raised their operating loads.

The operating rate of domestic benzene hydrogenation units was 63.70%, up 0.26 percentage points from last week. China's weekly hydrogenated benzene output this week was 84,500 tons, an increase of 300 tons from last week. During the week, Shandong Laigang and Shanxi Deyi units restarted, while Anhui Linhuan and Shanxi Coking shut down.

Styrene: Xinpu Chemical's unit, after restarting last week, achieved full-cycle continuous production during this period. Caprolactam: units showed normal fluctuations. Phenol: the phenol–acetone unit in Shandong was shut down for maintenance; the phenol–acetone units at Formosa Industries (Ningbo) and Wanhua Chemical were offline for a longer period than last week; Gaohua Materials' phenol–acetone unit was restarted around mid-week. Aniline: Dongying Caijin was shut down for maintenance from July 9 to August 26 and has now restarted, producing qualified product; Nanjing Chemical and Yangnong have not yet returned; a plant in the north cut its load; Tianji's load fluctuated slightly. Adipic acid: Zhonghao's unit is raising its load.

Benzene output and utilization climbing while downstream margins stay mixed—styrene and adipic acid are firming, but phenol and aniline weaker. Capacity utilization shifts suggest feedstock availability is improving, ye..
