Taking the East China region as the benchmark, today's isopropanol closed at 10,000 CNY/ton, up 300 CNY/ton from the previous trading day. Raw material acetone prices showed a clear upward trend, providing strong cost support for production facilities and prompting active price hikes, which significantly lifted the market center. Holders remained largely in a wait-and-see mode with low willingness to quote actively. Although low-priced supply was scarce in the market, high-priced offers saw little follow-through, resulting in a stalemate and transitional market conditions.
Today, the isopropanol industry capacity utilization rate was 49%. Regarding profits, plants using the acetone process had a profit of -350 CNY/ton, while those using the propylene process had a profit of 477 CNY/ton.
Raw material prices remain firm, and vendors exhibit strong wait-and-see sentiment. Quotations remain robust, while holders operate cautiously with limited intent to sell at lower prices. Most actual transactions await bids and negotiations, and transaction volumes have yet to fully release. Overall, the short-term isopropanol market is expected to maintain high-level fluctuations. Future attention should be paid to changes in raw material trends and downstream procurement activities.
Acetone: Taking the Jiangsu region as the benchmark, today's acetone price closed at 9,350 CNY/ton, an increase of 200 CNY/ton from the previous trading day. The overall East China acetone market pushed higher today. Driven by price hikes from key plants at the start of the week, holders supported prices and pushed them up, leading to a significant rise in spot quotations. However, high prices suppressed downstream purchasing willingness, with limited terminal users entering the market to replenish stocks. Actual deal follow-through was weak, and trading activity remained generally sluggish. In the afternoon, the market center faced downward pressure and retreated, resulting in a "high open, low close" pattern.
