Profit Decline in the Industrial Pyrolysis C9 Value Chain (Oct 23–29, 2026)

Published on 2026-10-29

Statistical Table of Profit Changes in the Domestic Industrial Cracking C9 Industry Chain

Unit: Yuan/ton

Product Current Period Previous Period Change Value Change Rate (%) Next Period Trend
Industrial Aromatic Solvent -39 -19 -20 -105.26% ↑
C9 Thermally Polymerized Petroleum Resin -164 -90 -74 -82.22% ↓

Data Source: Chempricehub

During the current period, downstream profits across the cracking C9 industry chain declined. For industrial aromatic solvents, both the product price and the raw material price rose on a weekly average basis compared to the previous period; however, the increase in product prices was less than that of raw materials, resulting in an overall week-over-week decline in profit margins. Similarly, for C9 thermally polymerized petroleum resins, although both product and raw material (cracking C9) prices increased week-over-week, the rise in raw material costs outpaced the increase in product prices, leading to a decrease in theoretical profit margins.

Seeing C9 thermally polymerized resin margins drop 82% is worrying. With feedstock costs rising faster than product prices, capacity utilization may fall soon. I expect short-term pressure on downstream demand recovery d..
