ChemPriceHub, October 22 –
On October 22, the market price of phthalic anhydride (PA) in East China remained stable. The mainstream quoted prices for PA produced via the ortho-xylene process were CNY 10,000–10,500 per ton, while those for PA produced via the naphthalene process were CNY 9,400–9,600 per ton. Crude oil prices fluctuated upward, passing through to downstream products; industrial naphthalene prices held firm with strong consolidation. Ortho-xylene was quoted at CNY 10,150 per ton, with its price stabilizing and continuing to provide cost support.
Downstream plasticizer markets also trended steadily. Plasticizer manufacturers increased their equipment operating rates, engaging primarily in rigid-demand procurement. Phthalic anhydride buyers maintained a just-in-time purchasing strategy, yet demand support for PA persisted. Meanwhile, PA producers saw rising equipment utilization rates, ensuring stable supply levels and low inventory stocks. Overall, the PA market is expected to remain stable in the near term.
