On September 28, the 400,000-ton-per-year lithium iron phosphate (LFP) project by Xuzhou Xinrui Lithium Battery broke ground in the Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. With a total investment of RMB 4 billion, the project leverages existing facilities at GCL Silicon Materials’ plant through leasehold renovations of workshops, without adding new industrial land. It involves the procurement of equipment such as spray dryers and kilns. Upon completion, the facility will produce 400,000 tons per year of LFP cathode materials, representing a strategic expansion of GCL Group’s new energy portfolio.
