Based on the Shandong region as a benchmark, today's n-butanol closed at 8,700–8,750 yuan/ton, consistent with morning expectations. Today, the domestic n-butanol market price fluctuated at high levels, with increased wait-and-see sentiment among market participants. It is reported that raw material propylene prices declined, leading to a slight reduction in costs; however, some cost support remains. Downstream purchasing enthusiasm weakened, transactions at high prices decreased, and the trading focus shifted toward lower price ranges.
Today, the domestic capacity utilization rate for n-butanol stood at 78%. With the decline in raw material propylene prices, current profitability for n-butanol producers is approximately 1,134 yuan/ton.
Currently, the decline in raw material propylene prices has led to reduced production costs, weakening the cost-based support for n-butanol prices. Downstream willingness to take delivery has diminished, with inquiries and transactions concentrated at the lower end of the price range. The market price is expected to undergo volatile consolidation.
Octanol Market: Today, the domestic octanol market center shifted downward. Due to low selling prices from intermediaries holding profitable positions, it is difficult to close deals based on current offers. Before the National Day holiday, supply from octanol plants recovered somewhat, resulting in ample market availability. Downstream users exhibited strong wait-and-see attitudes.
