Morning Market Briefing for Refrigerants

Published on 2026-09-29

I. Key Points

  1. In September, the reference price for hydrofluoric acid (HF) procurement tenders by major plants in East China was set at 15,100–15,200 RMB/ton (delivered).
  2. The chloroform market remained stagnant and flat. As of now, mainstream quotes in Shandong are around 2,500 RMB/ton.

Core Logic: Mainstream large-scale producers of fluorocarbon refrigerant R22 in East China maintained firm high prices, while the overall market center remained weakly stable.

II. Price Table

Product Region 2026/9/28 2026/9/29 Change Remarks
R22 East China 21,000–23,000 21,000–23,000 0/0
R32 East China 63,500–64,500 63,500–64,500 0/0
R125 East China 54,000–57,000 54,000–57,000 0/0
R134a East China 63,500–65,000 63,500–65,000 0/0
R143a East China 51,000–53,000 51,000–53,000 0/0
R404A East China 53,000–54,000 53,000–54,000 0/0
R410A East China 57,000–59,500 57,000–59,500 0/0
R507A East China 53,000–54,000 53,000–54,000 0/0

Notes:

  1. All RMB prices listed above are mainstream ex-factory reference prices for the East China market.
  2. Prices for the two periods represent point-in-time prices on two adjacent working days, not daily averages.
  3. The "Change" column reflects the difference between two adjacent working days.

III. Market Outlook

As of the time of writing, mainstream large-scale producers of fluorocarbon refrigerant R22 in East China quoted ex-factory prices around 24,000 RMB/ton (consistent for both domestic and export markets). The mainstream ex-factory price range for R22 in East China is 23,000–24,000 RMB/ton. Market intelligence indicates that leading channel distributors have successfully reduced their inventory levels; however, end-user demand remains weak, resulting in limited order acceptance following recent adjustments to distributor quote prices. On the production side, the industry continues to strictly control operating loads to balance limited market demand. Statistics show that the overall industry operating rate for R22 has remained around 70%. Comparing domestic and international markets, there is a certain price gap between export and domestic prices for R22. Demand from the refrigerant-grade market remains rigid but low-volume, while feedstock-grade R22 prices have declined further due to weak sentiment in downstream markets. Overall, mainstream factory quotes for R22 in East China remain firm, while smaller tail-end producers adjust their shipping quotes moderately, focusing primarily on small-package shipments with restricted bulk liquid sales. Chempricehub Information predicts that in the short term, large-scale producer quotes for R22 (ODS) will remain firm, while the actual transaction price center will stay weakly stable.

IV. Data Calendar

Data Item Release Frequency August 2026 Next Period Trend Forecast

R22 prices hold firm at 21k–24k RMB/ton despite weak downstream demand, driven by controlled capacity utilization. With HF feedstock costs stable around 15,100 RMB/ton, margins appear resilient for now, though prolonged..
