Morning Market Brief: Isopropanol

Published on 2026-10-15

I. Key Focus Points

  1. Yesterday, the negotiated price for acetone in the East China market was 8,600 RMB/ton, a decrease of 25 RMB/ton from the previous day.
  2. Yesterday, Lihua Yiweiyuan's external quote for isopropanol was 9,300 RMB/ton.

Core Logic: Monitor raw material market prices and downstream demand trends.

II. Price Table

Product Region Oct 14 Oct 13 Change Rate
Propylene East China 10,500 10,525 -0.24%
Acetone East China 8,600 8,625 -0.29%
Isopropanol East China 9,500 9,400 +1.06%
Notes: 1. Acetone, propylene, and isopropanol are all National Standard Grade A products. 2. All listed prices are spot cash pickup prices in RMB/ton. 3. The two periods refer to point-in-time prices from the two preceding working weeks before this week, not weekly averages. 4. The change rate represents the period-over-period percentage change.

III. Market Outlook

Yesterday, the domestic isopropanol market remained within a consolidation range. Support from raw material costs weakened; however, due to slightly tight spot supply in the market, intermediaries showed limited willingness to offer lower prices. Consequently, quoted prices edged up narrowly. With limited follow-through from end-user demand, actual transaction prices tended toward the lower end of the range. Today, the isopropanol market is expected to maintain a stalemate with continued consolidation, as participants await developments in the raw material market and further confirmation of demand.

IV. Data Calendar

Data Item Release Date Previous Period Expected Trend
Isopropanol Plant Operating Rate Thursday 17:00 PM 51.53% ↗
Notes: 1. ↓↑ indicates significant fluctuations (changes exceeding 3%). 2. ↗↘ indicates narrow fluctuations (changes within 3%). 3. → indicates stability.

Acetone's drop to 8,600 RMB/ton weakens feedstock support for isopropanol. While tight spot supply limits downside, sluggish downstream demand keeps margins thin. I expect consolidation continues as low transaction volum..
