April 7 (Reuters) - The mainstream spot quotation for xylene in East China was in the range of 8,200-8,350 yuan/ton, up 100 yuan/ton from the previous trading day. After the holiday, the toluene and xylene markets are expected to maintain a high-level volatile adjustment trend. In the previous trading day, toluene and xylene prices had already risen, coupled with the strong operation of international crude oil futures prices and the high risk of escalation of geopolitical tensions in Iran, cost-side support is relatively evident. However, domestic downstream industries show strong resistance to purchasing high-priced raw materials, and the pace of the aromatics market following price fluctuations in energy sources such as crude oil has slowed down. There is significant resistance to further sharp price increases in the short term, and the overall market is likely to operate with high-level range-bound fluctuations.
