Chempricehub, October 23 – On October 23, the market price of phthalic anhydride (PA) in Jiangsu Province maintained a firm consolidation. For PA produced via the ortho-xylene route, mainstream negotiated prices ranged from 10,400 to 10,600 yuan/ton, while naphthalene-based PA was quoted at 9,800–9,900 yuan/ton.
Operating rates at domestic PA plants have increased, ensuring stable spot supply in the Chinese market. Crude oil prices fluctuated upward, with ortho-xylene prices stabilizing and industrial naphthalene prices undergoing volatile consolidation, leading to relatively stable production costs for PA.
In the downstream sector, the plasticizer market has stabilized, and operating rates among plasticizer producers have recovered, continuing to provide support for PA demand. Driven by genuine end-user procurement, the overall phthalic anhydride market trended firmly toward stability.
