How much is waste paper worth per jin in China?
Quoted prices split sharply between the door price paid by small collection stations and the channel price paid by packing stations. In a typical Hefei snapshot, yellow board fetched about 0.6 yuan per jin at the door versus 0.9 at the packing station, while mixed and supermarket grades sat lower, roughly 0.4 to 0.5 at the door and 0.7 to 0.8 on the channel side. Regional spreads generally stay within about 10 percent. The gap exists because household and scavenger volumes arrive mixed, so they get pooled and sold as general cargo, whereas supermarkets and stores generate large, uniform yellow board that commands a premium. Uniformity, dryness, and low contamination are what move a load from the bottom to the top of the range.

Watch the door-to-channel spread as a sentiment signal. When it widens, packing stations are absorbing risk and expect prices to rise; when it compresses, they are pushing cost back onto collectors. Anyone holding inventory should track that spread weekly rather than fixating on the headline number.
