Inner Mongolia Morui Energy Materials, a 30,000-tonne/year aluminum chloride producer using the aluminum ingot process, has implemented a human-machine collaborative manufacturing model. The company deployed four aluminum ingot handling robots with rail transfer systems and 20 scraper-type automatic collectors to replace manual operations. Results include a 100% increase in handling efficiency, a 71.4% reduction in labor requirements, and monthly labor cost savings of CNY 184,000. The initiative addresses critical pain points: manual ingot feeding into high-temperature chlorination furnaces posed burn and injury risks, while manual tapping of collectors damaged equipment and caused product quality inconsistency. This case reflects a broader industry shift toward green, intelligent, and continuous production, with leading domestic fine chemical firms already achieving 75% smart manufacturing coverage.

However, the capex for robotic systems and automatic collectors requires scale to justify.
