Based on the Zhejiang region as a benchmark, today's DOTP offer price in the Zhejiang market closed at 11,200 CNY/ton, an increase of 200 CNY/ton from the previous business day, aligning with morning expectations.
Today, domestic DOTP prices surged strongly, with mainstream increases ranging from 150 to 200 CNY/ton. Tight supply and rising prices for upstream propylene have intensified financial pressure on the isooctanol sector. Market participants remain bullish on future isooctanol prices, providing strong cost-side support for DOTP. Driven by these factors, downstream users increased purchases to meet rigid demand. Combined with sellers limiting shipment volumes, this collectively pushed DOTP prices higher.
Today, the domestic DOTP capacity utilization rate stood at 60%, reflecting moderate operating levels. Regarding profitability, raw material isooctanol prices rose in East China, while PTA prices dipped slightly. With DOTP prices increasing in the Zhejiang market, theoretical profit margins for sample enterprises in Zhejiang expanded slightly, reaching a theoretical profit of 333 CNY/ton today.
On the cost side, core raw material isooctanol prices are expected to remain firm. Another key raw material, PTA, is likely to consolidate within a high range due to cost support. The cost landscape remains favorable for the DOTP market. Additionally, tight spot supply provides further support. Therefore, short-term DOTP prices are expected to trend firmly upward. However, cautious follow-up buying at high prices may limit the extent of the rise.
Today, the domestic isooctanol market saw expanding gains. Propylene prices continued to rise significantly, pushing up isooctanol production costs. Driven by cost pressures, isooctanol producers adjusted their offers upward. Downstream users slowed procurement of high-priced spot isooctanol, resulting in a mild trading atmosphere.
