On February 5, 2026, the European Commission issued an announcement, making an affirmative preliminary anti-dumping determination on 1,4-Butanediol originating from China, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. The ruling imposes provisional anti-dumping duties as follows: for Chinese involved enterprises, Xinjiang Markor Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. at 105.6%, Wanhua Chemical (Sichuan) Co., Ltd. at 113.7%, other cooperating enterprises (see the original annex for details) at 107.5%, and other Chinese enterprises at 113.7%; for Saudi Arabian involved enterprises, International Diol Company and other Saudi Arabian enterprises at 52.4%; for U.S. involved enterprises, Lyondell Chemical Company at 135.7%, and other U.S. enterprises at 142.5%. The EU Combined Nomenclature (CN) codes for the involved products are 2905 39 26 and 2905 39 28. On June 6, 2025, the European Commission initiated an anti-dumping investigation into 1,4-Butanediol originating from China, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. The dumping investigation period covers January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, and the injury investigation period spans from January 1, 2021, to the end of the dumping investigation period.
