An MEG plant in East China with an annual capacity of 800,000 tons restarted on May 2 and is currently operating stably. The plant had previously undergone a temporary shutdown in late April.
An ethylene glycol plant in Central China with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons plans to begin a full-plant maintenance shutdown on May 25, expected to last approximately one month. Currently, the plant's ethylene glycol operating rate is around 30%.
As of May 6, the total MEG inventory at the main East China ports stood at 763,000 tons, a decrease of 9,400 tons from last Thursday and a decrease of 30,000 tons from last Monday. Detailed breakdown: Zhangjiagang 440,000 tons, Taicang 223,000 tons, Jiangyin and Changzhou 45,000 tons, Shanghai and Changshu 55,000 tons. Regarding shipments: the weekly average daily shipment in Zhangjiagang was 4,100 tons, and in Taicang was around 5,600 tons.
