Chempricehub, August 26 — On August 26, 2026, the latest basis quotes for port ethylene glycol (polyester grade, imported, predominantly ethylene-based, minimum 500 tons per sale) spot contracts are as follows: (Basis = spot price − September futures contract price)
This week's contract (before Aug 28): Opening basis quote range: +430 to +450 (October contract quote: +600 to +620); the basis subsequently moved slightly lower to +360 to +390, and has now modestly rebounded to +400 to +420.
Next week's contract (before Sep 4): Opening basis quote range: +380 to +500; the basis then fell to a low of +360 to +390, and has now modestly rebounded to +380 to +390.
Week-after-next contract (before Sep 11): Opening basis quote range: +320 to +360; the basis then fell to a low of +320 to +360, and has now modestly rebounded to +350 to +370.
Late-September contract (before Sep 25): Opening basis quote range: +250 to +260; the basis then dropped to a low of +210 to +220, and has now modestly rebounded to +200 to +230.
