DBP Market Morning Briefing (September 10, 2026)

Published on 2026-09-10

I. Key Focus Points

  1. DBP downstream buying interest is picking up.

  2. Feedstock prices remain high, providing some cost support.

II. Price Table

  3. All RMB prices in the table above are ex-works cash prices.

  4. The prices for the two periods are point prices from the two working weeks prior to this week, not weekly average prices.

  5. The change rate is the week-on-week percentage change.

III. Market Outlook

Yesterday, domestic DBP market prices continued to rise. It is understood that market prices for both the feedstock phthalic anhydride and n-butanol have risen sharply for consecutive periods, increasing cost pressure while also reinforcing price support. Downstream players are purchasing based on rigid demand and remain cautious about buying at high prices. Market inquiries and trading volumes were moderate. DBP market prices are expected to trend upward within a narrow range today.

DBP’s rally looks mostly feedstock-led to me, so downstream demand must keep improving to hold these gains; otherwise margin pressure could cap upside.
