Since February, cotton prices have been fluctuating within a narrow range. According to the commodity market analysis system of Business Society, as of February 5, the spot price of 3128B-grade cotton was 16,031 yuan per ton, representing a decrease of 1.02% compared to the beginning of the month. As the Spring Festival approaches, cotton processing in Xinjiang is nearing completion. Starting from February 7, appointments and public inspection for storage at Xinjiang cotton professional supervision warehouses have been suspended. A survey by the China Cotton Association shows that in January, the average purchase price of seed cotton for 400-type cotton processing enterprises nationwide was 5.99 yuan per kilogram, a year-on-year increase of 3.3% and a month-on-month increase of 5.5%. By the end of January, the cumulative public inspection of cotton nationwide reached 7.262 million tons, with Xinjiang accounting for 98.7% of the total.

The Central Document No. 1 for 2026 was released on February 3. The document aims to stabilize the supply of key raw materials, particularly emphasizing the "improvement of the cotton target price policy," ensuring the security of supply and quality enhancement of basic raw materials for the textile industry from the source. This provides a solid foundation for downstream enterprises to develop high-value-added products. As the Spring Festival approaches, textile enterprises across the country have gradually entered a period of shutdown and holiday leave. Downstream market sales and purchasing activities have significantly weakened, with a noticeable shortage of new orders. Some enterprises in Xinjiang have maintained stable production and sales, with overall orders relatively sufficient. The operating rate of large-scale spinning mills in Xinjiang remains around 90%. It is expected that cotton prices will continue to fluctuate within a range before the holiday.
