In June 2026, the actual final discharge volume of China's methanol imports by ocean-going vessels totaled 432,700 tons (counted upon berthing, excluding Russian overland imports), an increase of 86,800 tons, or 25.09%, compared with the previous month's customs import volume of 345,900 tons.

China's methanol exports in June 2026 are estimated at around 120,000 tons, a decrease of 121,900 tons, or 50.39%, from the previous month's customs export volume of 241,900 tons.
Imports: The Persian Gulf remained closed during the earlier period, which prevented imports from recovering in a timely manner in June.
Exports: Overseas demand was difficult to sustain. As US–Iran peace talks gradually made progress, buying interest dropped sharply, leading to a significant decline in export orders.

In June, the estimated unloading volume of methanol imported by vessel was 432,700 tons, of which 167,000 tons were discharged from the major Middle East region and 265,700 tons from non-Iranian suppliers. In the same month, shipments from major Middle East producing regions rebounded significantly as the strait reopened, with preliminary estimates of 620,000–660,000 tons dispatched. Total imports are projected at approximately 1.05 million tons in July, including an estimated 600,000–620,000 tons from major Middle East suppliers and approximately 440,000–450,000 tons from non-Iranian suppliers. (Given multiple port-related factors, vessel arrival times may be subject to change; actual port arrivals shall be based on final discharge at the terminal.)
