Acrylic Acid Market Morning Briefing (20260908)

Published on 2026-09-08

I. Focus Points

  1. On the previous working day, the mainstream closing reference for the Shandong propylene market was 9,000–9,080 yuan/mt, with an average price of 9,040 yuan/mt, down 260 yuan/mt from the prior working day. Following propylene price concessions, market trading sentiment picked up. Supplier offers generally stabilized, while a few individual prices were revised upward. Downstream plants followed up on a need basis, and some auctions achieved slight premiums; the transaction center of gravity rose accordingly, but the market remained weaker than the previous working day.

  2. On the previous working day, the Jiangsu n-butanol market was referenced at 8,200–8,300 yuan/mt on an ex-warehouse basis. Market prices held steady in consolidation, with a stronger wait-and-see atmosphere. Downstream players traded cautiously, and market inquiries and deal volumes were mostly concentrated at the lower end of the range, with high-end prices seeing fewer transactions.

Unit: yuan/mt

Feedstock cost relief from the propylene drop may ease acrylic acid margin pressure, but downstream demand stays cautious; I’d watch capacity utilization before expecting any durable rebound.
