Port ethylene glycol (polyester grade, imported, primarily ethylene-based) spot as of July 15, 2026

Published on 2026-07-15

On July 15, 2026, the spot basis quotation for port ethylene glycol (polyester grade, imported, primarily ethylene-based) in spot contracts (min. 500 tons) against the EG2609 futures contract was slightly lowered, with specific ranges as follows:

  • This week's contract (before July 17): basis +155 to +163
  • Late July contract (before July 25): basis +155 to +163
  • Late August contract (before July 25): basis +140 to +150

The main reason is that the current ethylene glycol futures market is trading firmly at high levels. Single-direction receiving traders are relatively cautious, while single-direction traders holding physical cargo are more willing to place sell orders at high prices.

After market close, the port ethylene glycol basis quotations were as follows:

  • This week's contract (before July 17): basis +155 to +160
  • Late July contract (before July 25): basis +155 to +156
  • Late August contract (before July 25): basis +140 to +150
