On September 23, the delivered price of butadiene in Shandong Province ranged from RMB 13,800 to 13,900 per ton, while ex-tank self-pickup quotes in East China were between RMB 13,200 and 13,300 per ton. Recently, the butadiene market has been consolidating within a narrow range at elevated levels. Crude oil costs provide support, and available circulating supply remains tight; however, downstream buyers are maintaining only essential procurement needs, resulting in subdued trading activity. Traders have offered discounts to move inventory, indicating weak upward momentum. In the short term, the interplay between supply and demand will persist, with prices likely fluctuating within a defined range. Future attention should focus on plant operating rates and the pace of restocking by downstream users.
