On July 7, 2026, the basis quotations for spot ethylene glycol contracts (polyester grade, imported, mainly ethylene-based) for port delivery (minimum 500 tons) against the EG2609 futures contract rose significantly intraday. Details are as follows:

  • This week's contract (delivery before July 10): Basis quoted at +122 to +150
  • Next week's contract (delivery before July 17): Basis quoted at +130 to +150
  • Late July contract (delivery before July 25): Basis quoted at +135 to +155
  • Late August contract (delivery before August 25): Basis quoted at +80 to +100

Post-market night session basis range (order-driven pricing):

  • This week's contract (before July 10): Basis quoted at +140 to +145
  • Next week's contract (before July 17): Basis quoted at +140 to +145
  • Late July contract (before July 25): Basis quoted at +140 to +145

The basis moved upward. There were few physical deliveries via basis auction by pure basis traders. Currently, most transactions on the exchange are order-driven price fixing (sellers offering high futures prices with low basis for delivery).
