On September 10, the FOB Korea toluene price rose by $68/mt to $1,181/mt, and the FOB China toluene price rose by $68/mt to $1,178/mt.
In the Indian market, toluene prices strengthened. The spread between CFR India toluene and FOB Korea toluene was $150/mt. The CFR India toluene price was $1,331/mt, up $71/mt from the previous trading day. In the domestic market, the Kandla ex-tank price stood at INR 170/kg, up INR 10/kg from the previous day, affected by rising crude oil and low inventories; forward toluene after September 20 was quoted at INR 155/kg, with a substantial volume of toluene cargoes expected to arrive subsequently.
On the plant side, Malaysia's Pengerang Refining and Petrochemical steam cracker is running at only 50%-60% in September due to cost-related reasons.
