Sultan gold production in 2025 is expected to reach 70 tons, with an increase of more than 10% above the previous year.

Khartoum: The Sudan Minerals Company announced on the 28th that by 2025, the country's gold production would reach 70 tons, surpassing its target by 13%. Nur Da'im Taha, the Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources in Sudan, stated in a declaration that the total revenue from mineral activities in 2025 was approximately 1.087 trillion Sudanese pounds (approximately 3400 Sudanese pounds per dollar). He expressed his hope to incorporate new national projects into the mining development plan for 2026.
Data from the Sudan Minerals Company shows that due to armed conflicts, gold production in the country declined in 2023 but rebounded to 64 tons in 2024. Gold exports are one of the main sources of foreign exchange earnings for Sudan. According to statistics from the Central Bank of Sudan, in 2022, the value of gold exports reached $2.02 billion, accounting for 46.3% of non-oil exports. An International Monetary Fund report released in October this year predicted that Sudan's real GDP would grow by 3.2% in 2025.
