Yichang Zhicun New Materials in Hunan Province has published the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for its technical retrofit project focused on the comprehensive utilization of lithium carbonate. The project leverages the existing production capacity of 20,000 tons per year of lithium carbonate to process leaching residues and recover resources. With a total investment of RMB 2.5 billion, the facility will have an annual solid waste processing capacity of 1.1 million tons upon completion, producing by-products such as lithium carbonate and potassium sulfate. The production line was shut down from 2024 to 2025 and is scheduled to resume operations in early 2026.
