Chempricehub reminder: Sinochem Quanzhou's 80,000-ton carbon black project has been transferred to trial operation.
Published on 2026-05-22

On May 22, Sinochem Quanzhou's 80,000 tons/year carbon black project successfully achieved mechanical completion on May 15, 2026, and has fully transitioned into the trial production phase. This project represents an important extension of China's first petroleum-based carbon black industrial chain, enabling the high-value utilization of petrochemical residue and opening up a new petroleum-based raw material route for China's carbon black industry.

Project Overview:
Location: Quanhui Petrochemical Industrial Park, Quanzhou, Fujian Province
Scope: Construction of two 40,000 tons/year rubber-grade carbon black production lines, along with supporting 85 tons/hour tail gas boilers and desulfurization and dust removal facilities.

Chempricehub Commentary on Carbon Black:
Bearish/Bullish Score: -1

The smooth mechanical completion and entry into trial operation of Sinochem Quanzhou's 80,000 tons/year carbon black project will increase domestic carbon black market supply as production capacity comes online, exerting a generally bearish impact on spot carbon black prices.
