Chempricehub Key Reminder: Processing Fees for Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Generally Increase, Related Products Receive Positive Support
Published on 2026-05-13

May 13 - According to market sources: A major battery manufacturer has concluded price negotiations with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode material suppliers, with processing fees for all product generations increasing by over 1,500 yuan/ton (including the linked price increase for phosphoric acid). For second-generation-plus and higher products, the converted processing fee exceeds 18,000 yuan/ton. Additionally, other second-tier battery manufacturers have also implemented a general increase of 2,000 yuan/ton.

Chempricehub's assessment of lithium iron phosphate (LFP): Bullish/bearish score: 1.5. The general increase in processing fees for all generations of LFP products by over 1,500 yuan/ton, with second-tier battery manufacturers seeing a rise of up to 2,000 yuan/ton, directly boosts industry profitability. This provides strong upward support for LFP spot prices, with market expectations of price hikes heating up.

Assessment of phosphoric acid: Bullish/bearish score: 1. The increase in LFP processing fees includes the linked price rise for phosphoric acid, indicating that upstream phosphoric acid prices have also risen concurrently. This provides positive support for phosphoric acid spot prices, which now have upward momentum.
