Chempricehub, September 17 News:
Several large-scale methanol plants in Iran and Saudi Arabia have reduced operating rates or shut down. With significant inventory buildup in floating storage units at sea, methanol arrivals to China in September declined markedly, with weekly imports totaling only approximately 100,000 tons, resulting in a temporary domestic supply gap. Meanwhile, some cargo has been diverted to India and Southeast Asia, leading to a substantial year-on-year increase in China’s methanol exports and reshaping the global trade landscape.
