Chempricehub Analysis on Diethylene Glycol, Bull-Bear Score: 2
Sinopec East China significantly raised its diethylene glycol (DEG) offer by 900 yuan/ton. Shanghai Petrochemical implemented a price of 5,870 yuan/ton, while Yangzi Petrochemical and Yangba Petrochemical implemented a price of 5,900 yuan/ton. Concurrently, Yangba’s unit is operating at only about 40% capacity, indicating tight market supply and strong demand. This price adjustment directly pushed up spot prices, reflecting supply-side contraction (low operating rates) and strengthened cost support, which constitutes a significant positive factor for the diethylene glycol spot market. Prices are expected to remain strong in the short term.
