The reduction of 100 yuan in the ex-factory price of pure benzene (petroleum benzene) to 8,503 yuan/ton indicates ample market supply or weakened demand, exerting significant downward pressure on spot prices. Combined with the futures market performance on the Dalian Commodity Exchange, pure benzene futures contracts generally declined on April 20. For instance, the main contract 2605 closed at 8,558 yuan/ton (down 195 yuan), and contract 2606 closed at 8,410 yuan/ton (down 186 yuan), reflecting a bearish trend in the futures market.
