Additionally, its 400,000-ton/year chlor-alkali unit is operating normally, indicating relatively ample supply, which provides a bearish signal for regional caustic soda spot prices.

In the futures market, the main caustic soda contract 2607 on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange closed at 2,026 RMB/ton on April 30, down 29 RMB/ton, with an open interest of 226,600 lots. The latest reduction in spot quotations is expected to further fuel market pessimism, exerting downward pressure on caustic soda futures prices.
