Chempricehub Alert: International Butadiene Prices Partially Increased
Published on 2026-04-03

April 3rd News: On Thursday (April 2nd), the international butadiene market closed with partial increases: European butadiene FOB Rotterdam settled at $1,570–1,578 per ton; FD Northwest Europe settled at €1,210–1,218 per ton.

Chempricehub's analysis of butadiene, with a long-short score of 1, reported that international spot prices for butadiene partially increased. European FOB Rotterdam settled at $1,570–1,578 per ton, and FD Northwest Europe settled at €1,210–1,218 per ton, indicating stronger spot demand or tightening supply in the international market, which is favorable for spot prices.

Combined with butadiene rubber futures data (Shanghai Futures Exchange), the settlement prices of major contracts such as 2612 and 2701 generally declined (e.g., the 2701 contract settled at 14,670 yuan per ton, with a change of -475). Open interest changes were minimal, reflecting short-term pressure or cautious expectations in the futures market.

Overall, the rise in spot prices provides support, but the weakness in futures limits the upside potential. The overall impact is moderately positive, and it is recommended to monitor changes in supply-demand balance.
